Nokia Software

Hey guys!! I am having a major Internet explorer problem..

It won't load any webpages... I had IE7 and it suddenly stopped working..even msn messenger & outlook connector of outlook won't work with hotmail but works with gmail... Diagnose connection tool on IE gave me some http, https, ftp ports are blocked or something like that... I uninstalled IE7 thinking it probably happened after I upgraded to XP SP3 a couple days back..i unloaded sp3 and ie7 but IE6 does not load any webpages either..

Luckily I've mozilla and that works normally... so I can still access the internet and ask you guys for some help!

The funny thing is I loaded the computer on safe mode with networking..and IE6 works normally.. It is able to load all pages.. It just does not work in regular mode.. Can anyone help!! Thanks!!!!

I run Windows XP SP3 with a Kaspersky 7.0 Internet Security..

I read somewhere that Hijackthis will help.. But I don't know how to read the logs or what to do with it.. Can anyone help if i post the hijackthis registry log file.. Thanks!!! Also Kaspersky picks up a phishing attack from http://v.freefl.info/day.js..... could this be the reason...????

I tried reinstalling IE7 from the link you posted..but it didn't work..

So on a hunch i tried uinstalling Kaspersky Internet Security 7 ..and bam ..everythin starts workin... IE 7, msn messenger..outlook..everythin..

So I'm guessing it was a KIS 7 thingy and m not going to install it again.... however now I'm using a trial version of KIS 2009... do u recommend that or McAfee Total Security 2008..

you know,i had Kasperky installed too and cuz of it my pc was restarting after it loaded kasperky on startup ...

THOUGH IT MAKES THE SYSTEM A BIT SLOW TO BOOT(BUT IT WONT AFFECT UNTIL U HAVE A REALLY OLD SYSTEM)

i used Norton for a long time .. and it never found anything.
it might be "good",but not that good

I had renewed my subscription for another year for Norton 2006 which I got a 1 year trial for when i bought a new laptop...However I didn't realize how much it slowed down my computer until I uinstalled it.. and got Kaspersky.. but before that I tried the trial version of Norton 2009 beta...and that wasn't as slow.. In fact my computer hardly showed any effects from installing that... I liked Norton 2009 beta.. however when norton 2008 was installed, my computer kept stalling when it found infostealer.gampass or something like that..

So I'm torn now.. I know this kaspersky 2009 I'm using now is a trial version and most often the the cracked version keys get blacklisted..

What do you guys recommend for anti-virus then? mcafee total security? norton 2008? or Kaspersky?

i have used norton, kaspersky,macfee....
All of them. I download a lot and am prone to millions of internet threats.
Believe of budz, its not in air,the latest versions of norton are real superb. They are fast and do work most automatically.
This prob what u as saying was there in norton 05 and 06. Time has changed and so has symantec. If u don't trust me, try out urself and pm me.
