Is it expensive to listen to B-LIVE Radio?
That depends. The cost of streaming content varies from $2.00 per MB per hour to $12.00 per MB per hour – depending on what kind of contract you have with your mobile supplier. You will probably be billed on the amount of data you download, but some operators offer an unlimited data package. Check with your mobile network operator before you start listening to the service through your mobile phone.
I’ve tried but I still can't install the service on my phone. Why not?
Your phone may not be compatible with this service. Check your compatibility on the ‘Listen Now’ page. If your phone isn’t there you will not be able to listen to the service at the moment, but you can still listen direct through the website.
I'm not sure what model of mobile phone I own. Can you tell me?
If you’ve got a Nokia click here, if you’ve got a Lenovo click here, a Panasonic click here, perhaps it’s a Samsung? click here, maybe you opted for a Siemens click here, or it could be you own a Sendo click here.
How big is the file transfer?
The tracks have been encoded to ensure you get the best possible listening experience. On average one full hour of streaming content translates into 7.2MB
What is WAP?
A WAP site is just like a website but you can access it through your mobile phone. WAP site addresses look like this: wap.bacardi.com
What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a way of passing data from machine to machine. It works a bit like a radio signal. Bluetooth has a range of around 10 meters. If you want to get B-LIVE Radio on your phone from your P.C or Mac you will need to make sure that the Bluetooth function is turned on on both your phone and your computer. You also need to ensure your phone is set to discoverable so it will accept the B-LIVE Radio player.
What is infrared?
Infrared is the technology used in most remote controls. Like Bluetooth it’s a way of passing data from machine to machine. You will need to make sure your Infrared is turned on on your machine and your mobile phone in order to download B-LIVE Radio to your phone.
What is an ‘application’?
An application is something that allows more advanced mobile phones to install something onto a mobile phones operating system. A mobile phone game would be considered an application. B-LIVE Radio is very similar – it allows you to do something with your mobile other than, make phone calls and send text messages.
What is GPRS?GPRS stands for Global Packet Radio System. Sounds complicated but it simply allows you to look at WAP and websites on wireless devices (like mobile phones and PDA’s) and download data. Most Mobile Network Operators use GPRS. You may get charged for downloading data using GPRS. Check whether you will get charged by your operator.
What is 3G?
3G stands for Third Generation. This means you can download data on to your wireless device up to five times as fast as you could on GPRS. 3G is good for B-LIVE Radio listeners as many network operators around the globe offer unlimited downloads. That means you can download as much data as you want and not get charged for it. But it’s always worth calling up your network operator and finding out what your plan is, just in case you do get charged.
What is 2.5G?
Some of the more advanced mobile phones do not use a 3G network to download data. 2.5G phones are usually Nokia 6 series, and Sony Ericsson “Smart Phones”.
