Google Maps for mobile is the official mobile mapping application from Google.

Download Google Maps for mobile to your phone, and never carry a paper map again. Google Maps for mobile features include the following:

My Location (beta)
Google Maps for Mobile features My Location, a service that allows mobile users to retrieve their current location without the need for GPS. My Location approximates your current location on the map, usually within 1000 meters, by recognizing information broadcast from mobile towers near you. Google Maps for Mobile also uses built-in GPS, or can link to a Bluetooth GPS sensor to more accurately pinpoint a user's location.
Map and satellite views
Google Maps provides both map and satellite views of an area. The user interface feels like Google Maps does on the desktop. Users can scroll in a direction to see more of the map, or zoom in and out using shortcut keys.

Driving directions
Google Maps makes it easy to get turn-by-turn driving directions. Thanks to the My Location feature, users do not even have to enter their starting point.

Transit directions
Check bus and subway schedules, determine what transfers you need to make, and plan adventures in more than 50 cities around the world. Transit functionality is currently available for BlackBerry and other Java-enabled phones. Support for additional phones is coming soon.
Business listings
Google's local search engine allows you to search for businesses by name (e.g. "Starbucks"), or by type (e.g. "coffee"). View store hours and ratings, and then dial the business you're interested in with a single click. Thanks to My Location, it's easy to find nearby businesses without even having to enter your current location.

Traffic
Google Maps will turn highways green, yellow, or red, based on real-time traffic data.

Favorites
Bookmark your favorite places so that you can easily return to them on the map.
