Asphalt: Urban GT was one of the first hit games from the company Gameloft.
After the massive success of this racing game, mobile players could enjoy 3 sequels of this game: Asphalt: Urban GT2, Asphalt 3: Street Rules and Asphalt 3: Street Rules 3D. These games are very similar to PC game Need for Speed. Player is one of the drivers, who race within unofficial championship in the streets of various cities all around the world. Nowadays, Gameloft begins to publish modifications of its popular brands, for example Ultimate Street Football is the modification of 2007 Real Football; Crazy Campus and Pop Superstar: Road to Celebrity are modifications of one of the best mobile games New York Nights (and its sequel Miami Nights). Pro Rally Racing (PRR) is also altered version of Asphalt. But it is very good one. The game looks very nice. The graphics looks very similar to Asphalt. The game is not real 3D game, it is something between Asphalt 3: Street Rules and Asphalt 3: Street Rules 3D. You will see rain or snow during the race; there are sometimes also stains from the mud or rain drops on the display. It looks very realistic, you feel like one of the participants of the race. The surroundings of the track is miscellaneous, I enjoyed the cherry trees in the Japan most of all. As you progress through the game, you gradually unlock new tracks. There are following stages in the game: Pikes Peak in USA, Rally in Mexico, Wales Rally in U.K., Rally in Norway, Rally in Corsica, Rally in Japan and Propercia Rally. You can choose from 2 basic game modes in the main menu of the game. First one is Instant Race. It is only a single race; I think that it is goof for training. The main part of PRR is championship. You will type your name and choose your country. You will then receive carrier points for the successes in the races and you will unlock the new game features for certain amount of carrier points. You can always check your driver profile. In your profile are except your name and nationality stated also ridden kilometers, gained career points and your care usage in percentages. There are 4 advanced modes of playing the championship basic mode. First one is normal race, you will race with other opponents and you have to be first, second or third in order to receive carrier points and unlock new game's features. Second advanced mode is time attack. You will ride alone and you must finish the track in given time. Third mode is jump contest. You will ride the beginning of the particular track and after approximately one third of the truck you will make a jump. You have 3 attempts and your jumps together must have given length. This mode was not very interesting for me. The last mode is duel. You will have only one opponent and you must beat him on the track. You don't have access to all the modes in each rally at the beginning; you have to unlock them by the progress in the game. You have also access to 2 Cups in the championship mode: Veteran Challenge Cup (contains 3 tracks: Rally in Mexico, Rally in Norway and Wales Rally in U.K.) and Pro Challenge Cup: (contains 3 tracks: Wales Rally in U.K., Rally in Corsica and Rally in Mexico). In race three tracks one after another together with 14 opponents. You start on the 15th position and you have to be minimal 3rd after the last race. You can choose from one of the 6 cars: Peugeot 207 Super 2000, Subaru Impreza, Citroen C4, Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or Skoda Fabia. You can't tune the cars; it is the main difference between PRR and Asphalt. Sounds are on the standard level of the Gameloft's games. There is a nice melody in the menu, you can hear countdown (3, 2, 1 go) before each race and also some sounds during the game. When you unlock all cars and truck there are still many features unlocked (individual advanced modes for each track), but I think that the players haven't motivation for unlocking this modes. Despite of this, you will continue playing, this game is really unputdownable. Controls of the game are very simple, you will use only 4 buttons – for turning right, left, use boost and for brake. I recommend this game especially to fans of the racing games, the rally fans will feel like in paradise. Real rally tracks, real cars and reactions of the cars on the truck surface are the main advantages of the game. Graphics and sounds are on the higher level, like in the most games from Gameloft. If you haven't played one of the Asphalt games from Gameloft, you will be fascinated. The game looses in the comparison with Asphalt 3: Street Rules 3D. I missed the possibility of car tuning and action elements of Asphalt. If you are waiting for the next sequel of Asphalt, PRR is a good alternative for you.
