Hey buds!!! I need help once again...and this time it is my ipod..

I have a 30 gb video ipod.. Just had it replaced by apple because the battery on the old one died! They basically gave me a brand new one...

Now the problem is that my windows XP SP3 laptop just won't pick it up.. it doesn't even show up on my computer neither does it even show that it is plugged in via usb.... I downloaded the latest itunes and it doesn't even show up there... could it be that there are some drivers missing?? the old one worked like a charm until the battery died out... any ideas or clues on how to fix this???
