I tried reinstalling IE7 from the link you posted..but it didn't work..

So on a hunch i tried uinstalling Kaspersky Internet Security 7 ..and bam ..everythin starts workin... IE 7, msn messenger..outlook..everythin..

So I'm guessing it was a KIS 7 thingy and m not going to install it again.... however now I'm using a trial version of KIS 2009... do u recommend that or McAfee Total Security 2008..
